Codex HOME AutoPatch patches the OpenAI Codex VS Code extension so each workspace uses its own CODEX_HOME under ~/.codex/workspaces/<workspace-name>. It's intended for VS Code users of the Codex extension who want per-workspace config and session separation. Important: this project is deprecated because it splits CODEX_HOME by unstable workspace.name values and leaves session history under ~/.codex/workspaces; read Migration before switching to Codex Workspace Filter. Scope: enable/disable must be done globally (not per workspace). The extension runs in the workspace/remote host but the patch affects the whole VS Code extension host. Configuration: - codex-home-autopatch.linkEntries (defaults: ["auth.json","config.toml","AGENTS.md","rules","skills","plugins","agents"]) — these are symlinked from ~/.codex because they are shared assets. - codex-home-autopatch.copyEntries (defaults: ["sessions","session_index.jsonl"]) — these are copied so each workspace keeps independent session history; on first use they are recursively copied if the destination doesn't exist. Migration: before installing xsjk.codex-workspace-filter, uninstall this extension and run scripts/merge-codex-workspaces.py to merge sessions into ~/.codex/sessions and rebuild session_index.jsonl; after confirming normal usage you can delete ~/.codex/workspaces.
