motrix-cli is a small command-line wrapper to control Motrix Next and legacy Motrix downloads via the local aria2 JSON‑RPC backend. It’s intended for humans, scripts, and AI agents (Codex, Hermes) that need a predictable, automatable interface to add downloads, check progress, and wait for completion without using the GUI. Key features: - Core commands: add, download (with wait/timeout), list, stat, wait, pause/resume, remove, purge-completed, rpc, open, doctor, version. - Stable machine-readable JSON output (ok:true/false) and a target object for automation. - One-line installer, reusable Codex skill, and a test suite protecting the JSON contract. - macOS-first defaults (reads Motrix config under ~/Library/Application Support, aria2 RPC on port 16800), requires Python 3.9+ and the Motrix app running. Environment variables allow manual RPC overrides for other platforms.
