AYA (Agent Your Agent) is a CLI/Python toolkit that acts as a project manager which decomposes programming tasks, routes each subtask to the most appropriate LLM, runs workers in isolated git worktrees, and merges results. It’s aimed at developers or teams who want deterministic, cost-aware multi-model automation (Claude family, Deepseek, OpenAI/GPT) for implementation, tests, reviews and docs. Key features: - 7-step PM pipeline: init → plan → decompose → spawn → monitor → merge → report. - Model routing table with primary/fallback choices and explicit billing rules (uses Claude Code Agent for opus/sonnet/haiku; `claude -p` and `codex exec` for billed engines). - File-system coordination under ~/.aya/runtime/<hash>/, per-task TaskSpec, mailbox/board for communication, and parallel-safe owned_files check. - Two coordination modes: fire-and-forget (sub-agent + board) and interactive teammate mode (SendMessage). - One-step spawn that returns exact Agent/Bash command, automated merging, conflict checks, cost reporting.
