CCSM (Claude Code Session Manager) is a desktop GUI that manages multiple Claude Code CLI sessions in parallel. It’s aimed at developers who run many live Claude agents and want task-oriented organization and a denser, native-like interface than many terminal tabs. Key features: - Group sessions by task (groups can contain sessions from different working directories). - Persistent PTY per session so switching is a buffer swap (no respawn, preserved scrollback). - Compact, CLI-style rendering with block-based messages and collapsed tool calls. - Inline, structured permission prompts (Allow/Deny) and streaming of responses. - Two derived states (idle / waiting) with sidebar indicators and desktop notifications. - Local-first: no HTTP to Anthropic; uses your installed claude binary and credentials; reads history from ~/.claude/projects/ and stores UI state in a local SQLite DB. - Cross-platform (Windows, macOS, Linux); dev build requires Node 20+.
