Claude Gateway is a macOS local gateway that lets Claude Desktop and Claude Code forward requests to any Anthropic-compatible upstream provider via a local HTTP endpoint. It maps local Claude-visible aliases (e.g., claude-opus-4-7, claude-sonnet-4-6, claude-haiku-4-5) to upstream models, rewrites the top-level model field, and keeps your provider API key only on the gateway. Who uses it: people who want a provider-neutral Anthropic-compatible upstream for Claude clients without running LiteLLM/uv or a separate proxy, and who want a native macOS UI for status, logs, requests, and diagnostics.
