MAP Spec is an open, MIT‑licensed YAML standard for producing unambiguous, AI‑consumable software specifications. It’s aimed at engineering teams, AI agents, and tooling that generate or validate code, tests and documentation from specs. Key features: a seven‑layer contract model (meta, functional, API, data, UI, rules, quality) covering project identity, features, endpoints, database schema, UI components, business guardrails, and test criteria; Atomic Specs (v1.1.0) — one file per concern so the least capable model can implement it; mandatory aiInstruction fields; explicit AI consumption rules (never invent or skip, follow aiInstruction, one atomic file = one implementation unit). Reference implementation: MyAgenticPlatform. Examples, docs, and contribution guidance included.
