Codex App Transfer is a lightweight desktop gateway that lets the OpenAI Codex APP use third‑party inference providers by translating Codex Responses API (streaming/non‑streaming / /responses) into chat‑completions, Gemini, Anthropic, Grok, etc., and forwarding requests to chosen vendors. It targets users who want to run Codex with alternative models or custom deployments (developers, power users). Key features: model name mapping, multi‑provider adapter (streaming and non‑streaming), freeform apply_patch ↔ function_call bridging, uniform error-to-response.failed translation with retry white‑list, two‑layer session persistence (LRU + SQLite 30‑day TTL), token/usage stats, real ChatGPT plugin relay mode, optional Codex Desktop theme injection, config snapshots and MCP credential portability, built‑in docs (Agents/Memories/Skills/MCP) editor, realtime logs, diagnostics, cross‑platform tray. Note: end‑to‑end real device tests completed only for Kimi For Coding and Xiaomi MiMo (Token Plan).
