X-HERMES-MCP is a self-hosted MCP server that lets personal researchers route Grok (xAI Responses API / Grok-4.x) calls through their existing X Premium Plus OAuth so queries are billed to the user’s Premium Plus subscription instead of a metered developer key. It’s intended for solo or small-scale users who access MCP tools from clients like Claude Code, Claude.ai, Codex CLI or ChatGPT Connectors. Key features: - OAuth 2.1 single-user provider (SQLite-backed) with refresh-token rotation and browser consent flow. - Exposes primary X search and tweet-analysis tools (x_search, fetch_tweet, search_tweets, get_trends, get_quote_tweets, fetch_tweet_chain) plus generate_image; V4 backends provide deterministic ISO-8601 timestamps and exact integers. - Tools return either raw xAI responses or ConnectC2X-compatible normalized schemas. - No extra per-call charge beyond Premium Plus; typical latencies 27–86s (images 5–20s). - Self-hosted via Docker + Hermes Agent + Caddy, DDNS; image caching with 30-day retention. - Intended as a low-cost personal-research alternative to the paid X API.
